When I think about my mom, a lot of things come to mind. She was a gardener and loved to work in her flowerbeds. She was a reader and could often be found sitting on the back porch swing with a book. But when my boys think of me, although I love all the things my mom did, I have a different lifestyle – a farming lifestyle. And because of this, my wish list for Mother’s Day isn’t as conventional as flowers or wind chimes.
Don’t get me wrong. When you are looking for the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, almost any mom would love to be surprised with a beautifully planted patio pot. Maybe she’d even like to pick out the flowers for herself. And wind chimes are certainly relaxing, especially when you sit in the backyard with a gentle breeze. But a country mom appreciates a few other things as well.
One of my favorite gifts of all time is a 20v chainsaw. When the loppers I have in the garage are too weak to handle those larger limbs I want to cut, this chainsaw is small and light enough for me to easily position in the tree or shrub. Even the beginner can use this size chainsaw. There’s no need to mess with mixing gas and oil. Just charge the battery and pull the trigger.
