Wilco to Open a New Bend Store September 9th

Mt. Angel, Oregon, September 3, 2014 — Wilco, the Northwest’s #1 Agricultural Supply Cooperative, is ready to open a new 35,000 sq. ft. store in Bend, OR, to replace its existing 3,000 sq. ft. store.

The new store will be located at 2717 East Highway 20 at the intersection of Highway 20 and 27th street. The new store replaces the former Regal Cinema Theatre. The site has been busy with construction this year with another recent opening of a new Walgreens.

Wilco purchased the existing store business from “Round Butte Seed” back in March of 2013. The current store is located at 63353 Nels Anderson Road, Bend, Oregon 97701. This small store will be closed after the new location opens so Wilco can better serve customers with a full sized store that offers a more complete assortment of products and services.

The store features a 5,000 sq. ft. covered greenhouse, 5,000 sq. ft. clothing pad for Work Wear and Lifestyle Clothing, 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse with full service Load Out, a Pet Grooming Shop and an additional 15,000 sq. ft. to expand all other departments; including Lawn & Garden, Livestock Equipment and Supplies, Pet Food and Pet Supplies, and convenience True Value Hardware & Paint.

Wilco has been a member owned farm supply cooperative since 1967 and currently operates 22 locations. In addition to the 15 farm stores, Wilco services full-time farms through professional services and products at their seven agronomy centers and offers bulk fuel and lubricant delivery. All three business units combine for annual sales over 220 million dollars. The company has steadily and profitably grown throughout Oregon and Washington; which includes opening two other new stores this year in Cornelius and Corvallis.

The new store in Bend will open next Tuesday on September 9th. The new store will add 20 employees to the existing team. The store opens on Tuesday, September 9th to the public and is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday through Saturday and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. Wilco does have a four day Grand Opening celebration planned to start on Thursday, September 18th and it runs through Sunday the 21st. There are many activities and special offers planned to celebrate the new store.
