New Wilco Farm Store Opening in Prineville on April 4

Expanded store adds more than 25 jobs to the local community

Mt. Angel, OR March 29, 2023 – After months of preparations, the new 22,500 square feet Wilco Farm Store is opening to the public at 8am on April 4, located at 154 NE Saint Charles Way, Prineville, OR. The newly expanded store will now offer customers a full garden center, bulk bark and soil, a covered drive-thru load-out area, full dog grooming with three self-washing and drying pet stations that even includes the shampoo, and an extensive clothing and work wear area. “The existing old Prineville store footprint would actually fit inside the clothing area of the new store,” said Store Manager, Kati Hulett.

Hulett has helped hire 29 new employees to support the expanded store offerings and the new space that is nearly five times bigger than the store customers are used to. “We’re excited for customers to experience the amount of product we have and just how big the store is,” Hulett said. “They are going to be in awe. I can’t wait. It’s a really modern and bright space and what we have to offer is incredible,” she added.

“Everything will look different except the same familiar faces willing to serve you,” Hulett emphasized. That’s because all eleven of the current Wilco Prineville employees will be moving to the new space, along with 29 additional personnel to provide the exceptional customer service Wilco is known for. “Customers can expect a very experienced staff with a deep knowledge of Wilco products because 100% of the area specialists have all worked at other Wilco stores,” Hulett said.

Kati is no stranger to Prineville or Wilco. She is a native to Redmond and moved to Prineville 35 years ago when she got married. She has been in agriculture retail for most of her career, when she started working for Round Butte Seed Growers 28 years ago. When Wilco purchased Round Butte’s retail stores in 2013, she was ready for a new challenge and commuted from Prineville to Bend to help open the new Bend Wilco, where she served as Store Manager until 2020. When the opportunity arose to manage the Prineville store, she jumped at the chance to work locally again and just three years later can add helping open a second Wilco to her resume. In total, there are three Wilco Farm Stores in Central Oregon, including Redmond, Bend and the new and expanded Prineville store.

The current Prineville store on Gardner Road will be closing the week of April 3 to move to the new store and prepare for a massive moving sale and clearance event that will take place later in April. Watch for announcements of the upcoming clearance sale that will include greater markdowns during the four-to-six week long clearance event.

The new Prineville Wilco Store, located just 3 miles from the original Prineville location, will include all five signature departments that Wilco is known for, in addition to propane in the future, and will also have expanded hours of 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday and 9am-6pm on Sunday:

  • Lawn & Garden with a greenhouse for plants
  • Work, Western Wear & Boots
  • Pet Supplies and Dog Grooming
  • True Value Hardware & Benjamin Moore Paint
  • Farm, Fencing, & Feed featuring Purina

There are still a few seasonal and part-time positions available at the new Prineville store. If interested, go to www.wilcojobs.com.
