New Wilco Farm Store Opening in Sonora on April 13
Over 30 new jobs added to the local community.
Sonora, CA, April 2, 2021 – After months of preparations, the new Wilco Farm Store is opening on April 13, at 750 Mono Way in Sonora, CA. in the former Orchard Supply building. Stop in to see the uniqueness that Wilco has to offer, or shop online at www.farmstore.com and do drive-thru pickup at the new location. A few distinctive details that the Sonora store has to exclusively offer is a fully covered drive-through warehouse for load out, Wilco’s first touchscreen kiosk to easily browse warehouse and outside merchandise from inside the store, and benches made from recycled Purina livestock protein tubs.
Hiring has been in full swing and 33 new positions were created so far for the Sonora store. New store manager Marcus Rodriguez has been a resident of Tuolumne County for several years. “Our intent is to be a community store – we want to be a big part of the Sonora community and surrounding area,” he said. “We have an excited team ready to open the doors and welcome the community to our unique store, which I think is very representative of the lifestyles of the people in our area,” Rodriguez added.
Wilco Farm Stores are known for five signature departments:
• Pet Supplies and Dog Grooming
• Plants, Lawn & Garden
• True Value Hardware & Benjamin Moore Paint
• Feed, Farm & Fencing Supplies
• Work Wear & Boots
Rodriguez encouraged anyone interested in becoming part of the Wilco team to visit www.wilcojobs.com. “As we head into peak season for garden and hardware there will be more opportunities opening up for employment at Wilco,” he added.
There will be a virtual ribbon-cutting on April 12th that can be viewed online and the Wilco store will open with many discounted sale items. The traditional Grand Opening events have been modified to avoid large crowds as a safety precaution but will offer some of the same deep discounts customers seek out when a new store is opened for the community.
