Wilco Pet Adoption Program Grows

50 pets adopted last week

Mt. Angel, OR, Oct. 21, 2022 – Thanks to Wilco’s Pet Adoption Program, 23 cats and 27 dogs have new homes in Oregon and Washington. The pet adoption events took place in 17 Wilco stores in the Pacific Northwest the first weekend of October. Each of the participating Wilco stores partnered with a local pet shelter, humane society, or animal rescue to unite pet owners with available cats and dogs.

“It’s very rewarding to see our Pet Adoption Program growing to unite cats and dogs with much needed homes in our communities,” said Jake Wilson, Director of Merchandising, Marketing & E-Commerce of Wilco. “Supporting local animal organizations absolutely helps the pet population, and seeing the joy of welcoming new pet owners is an added bonus,” he added.

A “new pet” coupon package is provided to all pet adoptees as part of the Wilco Pet Adoption Program, which includes coupons on pet food and accessories to help them get started with their new furry friend. In Oregon, the Redmond Wilco had the largest number of pet adoptions and the Yakima Wilco had the most in Washington. This is the second year of the program. There will be additional pet adoption events in the future.
